Carriage Mounted Spreader Bars - This type of mast consists pf three sections as the name implies. The external part is attached securely to the lift vehicle. The next part telescopes inside the mounted outer part and the interior most section telescopes within the intermediate section. Both the middle and the internal section elevate and the lift cylinders lengthen. Once again in this model, the fork carriage rides in the internal section. The 3 stage mast provides a shorter lowered height compared to the 2 stage mast. The common usage of the 3 stage mast is in areas like for instance doorways where overhead clearances are restricted. This particular mast is often outfitted with a center cylinder to be able to allow the fork carriage elevate some distance before the mast sections start extension.
The 2 Stage Mast consists of two parts. The inner section telescopes within the outer and raises when the lift cylinders extend. The external part of this particular mast model is connected to the lift truck. The fork carriage is situated in the internal section. This mast type has a taller lowered height than an equivalent lift height quad mast or 3 stage mast.
